Starting off with a red carpet walkway, the
atmosphere was buzzing, the restaurant being full to the brim, as Canberra’s VIP
guests enjoyed a night to remember. Vapiano is a modern cashless restaurant
which also provides takeaway and home delivery. Inside, it is very spacious with
large, smooth oak tables; pot plants, beige interior and floor to ceiling
windows. This is reflective of the relaxed Mediterranean dining experience that
they wished to create.
They offer a range of authentic hand crafted
pizzas, pastas and salads coupled with an impressive bar list, including craft
beers, wines and cocktails. On the menu for the night was an: antipasto board,
garlic pizza, ham pizza, bacon carbonara and bolognese pasta. My favourite was
the carbonara, it was so tasty and creamy. For dessert: strawberry panna cotta
and Nutella cheesecake. I’m a chocoholic so my heart will always choose Nutella
but the panna cotta gave a light freshness to my palette.
All guests were served in tasting quantities however
they were all deceivingly filling so it will be interesting to see the dishes in
all their glory. The table service was impeccable, with all of the kitchen and
floor staff attentive and friendly.
Vapiano stole a pizza my heart!
Location: Bunda Street outside Canberra Centre'sMonaro Mall beauty precinct.
