3 simple ways to add style to your work wardrobe

I believe that no matter where you are going you should always add your own personal style to any outfit, whether work or play. But let's face it, dressing for work can get a bit repetitive and leave you feeling a little uninspired to express your own individual style.

You'd be surprised how little effort it takes to add style to your corporate look and maximise your wardrobe but most importantly reflecting your individual style on a daily basis instills confidence in who you are and avoids  getting yourself in a styling rut.

1. Invest in feature tops

There is no need to have a separate work wardrobe. Don't fall into the trap of buying tailored shirts you don't love " just to wear to work". Invest in a few feature tops you can pair with your black pencil skirt or work pant but are nice enough to wear with your favourite denim on the weekend. Opt for flowy styles as tailored shirts are not very versatile and are hard to dress down.

2. Add a statement accessory

Don't underestimate the power of statement accessories. A statement piece can elevate your look but most importantly your mood! Picture a statement necklace tucked under a collar of your go-to corporate shirt or statement earrings to add colour to your all-black 3 piece suit. My fave go-to accessory for work is a statement bag, especially on the days where I feel my look needs a little lift.

3. Add a pop of colour

Adding some colour is an instant way to update your work wardrobe and express your individuality. I know many of my personal clients dismiss colour for work but it really is a great way to diversify your look and add your own personal touch. Whether it be a bold red blazer for a day filled with business meetings or a printed top you can't go wrong with a bit of colour to add variety to your corporate look. If you fear colour or your office environment is very conservative opt for a bold red lip.
