Red and pink should always be seen

Ok ladies, we are truly into the festive season and we are so excited about some of the styles and bold colours we are seeing.

Now I must admit, I am not usually a colour girl especially for everyday but when it comes to dressing and styling for events I do go for colour as it is a great and fuss-free way to make a statement.

This season is great for colour! I am loving the different tones that are on trend but particularly the vibrancy of some of the reds, blues, oranges and pinks - perfect for colour blocking. The combo of the season has got to be red and pink and even though its reminiscent of the 80s/90s (think Dynasty and Sex in the City) I am loving the trend and had to try it for myself with this gorgeous fuschia pink fitted dress from Portmans/ Canberra Outlet Centre.

I love the fit of this dress for an event as it is flattering but still gives you enough room to be able to sit down and eat so ticks all the boxes in terms of style and comfort. Given the vibrancy of the colour it was the perfect choice for colour blocking teamed up with these patent red points.

When trying this colour combo for yourself make sure you go for the same vibrancy so don't choose a pastel pink with a bright bold red - I have seen this around and it just doesn't look right.

Another tip is to keep accessories to a minimum and keep the style of your dress clean - let the colour combination make the statement.

When colour blocking with other colours stick 2-3 colours max! and definitely have fun with combining colours you wouldn't normally think of putting together.

What do you think of the trend? Love or hate?
