high voltage hues - Lady in red

Spring is here and spring fashion refuses to be a ‘wall flower’.
High voltage hues are everywhere. For those who always wear black this might seem a bit daunting.

Wearing color commands attention and if done correctly it’s the right kind of attention. My styling tip for wearing block colors is to wear a color that works for you.

I hear you asking ‘how do I know what works for me?’

Often you will know your colors because colleagues, friends or family will comment on your outfit saying how radiant or well you look.

Pay attention to the reactions you get from people. I would also spend some time looking in the mirror analyzing how the color works with your skin.

Get the colour in question, and hold the fabric up to your face. A good color for you will brighten your skin, a bad color will draw color away from your face, or make your lines and pigmentation such as red spots more visible.

To embrace this spring trend I have opted for the Donna City dress in red from Portmans at the Canberra outlet centre.
Red for me is a power color. I feel confident wearing it and always get compliments. It has been a color I’ve always wanted to wear more and I’m so exited it’s everywhere this season.

I’ve teamed the dress with some powered blue shoes from my existing wardrobe to give the outfit an extra color pop.
