Who What Wear - Winter is coming... to an end!

While we all patiently wait for the spring blossoms to bloom and the temperatures to rise I thought I would share with you the fun I had in TK Maxx at the Canberra outlet for my second post for Luxe Dressing for Less.

With our resident stylist and editor Sofia giving me free reign to style her I was on a mission. The mission was to find an awesome winter/spring outfit that:
a. wouldn’t cost much
b. appeal to Sofia’s sophisticated style and love of neutrals
c. integrate with her current wardrobe (very important as this is something I tell all my clients to do when buying new items).

With all this in mind I forayed into TK Maxx (Tk’s) once again.

Tk’s own shopping guide is to find your department (ie male/female/kids), spot your category (skirts/pants/jackets) and then shop your size. It’s a guideline that definitely works.
Because it will not be cold for much longer, I wanted to play with the faux fur coats one last time. I found this amazing black faux fur cape for Sofia. Retailing at under $70.00 it was a steal and you can hardly tell I am a GOT fan can you?

I then moved on to find her some great basics that would work across her existing wardrobe.
I chose a skinny-leg black jean for her. A great fitting jean is a versatile addition to anyone’s wardrobe. They can be dressed up with heels and a dressy top or worn casually with sneakers and a tee.
Her next item was a streamlined high neck grey tunic. This clean cut top could be worn with long sleeves for extra warmth (if needed). The tunic could also be worn with a pencil skirt and a belt for a different look.
A grey tote from TK’s accessory section was added to complete my styling. Sofia then used her favourite over the knee boots to complement this look.
What have you found at TK Maxx lately?
