FASHFEST DAY 2. LIMINA

Only one word can describe the second Fashfest show on Friday night. Inspirational.

Charly Thorn
The clear winner of the night was 17 year old designer Charly Thorn who, deservedly, received a standing ovation for her Fashfest debut. Her designs were all about shimmer and shine, tassles and tiers.
Charly clearly knows her trends and how to mix them, incorporating metallic with pleats and having her models wearing sneakers instead of stilettos. She stuck to a black, white and gold colour palette, channelling Kylie Minogue with an amazing pair of gold hot pants. Charly’s designs are edgy and wearable and the future fashion star’s attention to detail blew me away. This girl will go places – remember the name Charly Thorn!

Naomi Peris bridal
Watching this show makes me want to get married. I’m sure all the married women want to renew their vows so they can dress themselves in one of the gorgeous gowns showcased. Naomi uses French lace and incorporated feathers and capes making everything she created for the show, a dress to remember. You just knew it was all about the intricate detail for Naomi because of those beautiful lace and feather arm cuffs, the buttons and trains. Clearly not afraid to break the mould, a model even walked the catwalk in lace pants. Now that is bold statement and I felt the love in the air, all directed at Naomi.

Zilpah Tart
We need to pay homage to the makeup for this show – it was a work of art and perfectly suited to the fashion.
It really stole the show with the doll like eyes and bold drawn on lashes on the cheekbone, a cute pink dot on the cheeks and pretty pink lips. The blue and white eyeliner and eyeshadow complemented the colours of the clothes and those headpieces were the cherry on top.

Megan Canning Designs
Hello glamour. We’re talking a statement lip, bold eyes, teased hair and beautiful, wearable fashion. The colours for the range were black, blush and eggplant with a really feminine feel. Lace, low backs, high necks, off shoulder, big necklaces and a finale piece that was a showstopper. Think a tiered cake that’s so perfect you just don’t want to ruin it by grabbing a slice. The tiers brought together satin ruffles and sheer fabric – amazing!

Kira Pizzingrilli
Culottes or the wide pant is all the rage and this designer brought it and took it up a notch.
The colours on the catwalk were white, orange and blush – like a sunset on a beautiful spring evening.
The fashion was feminine and another on trend look incorporated was the statement sleeve.
