Fashfest Designer profile: Hunter the Label

Sara Wurcker is the brain child of Hunter The Label, her style is fresh, current and clean. Hunter The Label is an independent Australian women’s wear label that delivers timeless clothes for the modern girl. Her designs go way beyond the fashion trends and are fresh and classic! Her pieces are functional that are easy to re-style and keep in your capsule wardrobe.

We honestly think her pieces will have you perfectly styled for the now and the coming seasons. We are super excited Sara will be returning to the Fashfest runway this year to launch her latest collection during 'Reverie' on opening night, Thursday 29 September at 6.30pm.

Sara has been illustrating fashion for years. She completed a fashion drawing course at Central St Martins and then formally studied fashion design. Hunter The Label is designed and made locally in Australia, operating on a made-to-order basis. Hunter operates from a studio at CARDIF Collective in Canberra.
We caught up with Sara in mid-preparations for Fashfest and this is what we wanted to know...

1. Can you tell us a little bit about the collection you will be showing at Fashfest 2016?
I will be showing Hunter’s Spring/Summer collection ‘Ariel’. The collection features lots of silk and linen, subtle florals and gingham.

2. Describe hunter in five words
Considered, timeless, subtle, feminine, unassuming.
3. What's next?
At the moment I am working on our Autumn/Winter collection and we have a few exciting collaborations in the works.

4. Where can we get our hand of your amazing designs?
The new collection will be available though our website and stockists such as Well Made Clothes (, Brie Leon (, Kinobi ( and in Canberra at Itrip Iskip.

5. What is it like prepping backstage for a show?
It’s fun. There is lots of energy backstage with hair and makeup, dressing models and running around checking everyone is ready to go out - there are always a few last minute things to sort out.
