FASHFEST DAY 1 OPENING NIGHT: 'REVERIE' OUR TOP 3

Opening Night: Reverie
Reverie promised a "visual delight with images to relish" and we sure were delighted! The opening night of Fashfest certainly did not disappoint and its first showcase had something for every eager fashionista from a mix of bold colour and sparkle to subtle femininity in softer colour palettes. Here are our top 3 designers from the showcase.

Alice McCall and Asilio presented by Rebel Muse

We were personally so excited Fashfest welcomed established and iconic designers to the runway this year including Asilio the Label and Alice McCall presented by one of our favourite boutiques Rebel Muse. Can we please put an order in for every single piece! The romantic pastels and fringed tassles featured in the showcase had our minds flicking between images of dreamy Couture straight from Milan fashion week to yummy summery sorbet and fairy floss. This delectable collection was quite the treat.

Hunter
One our favourite designers was back on the Fashfest runway since the event's launch in 2013 and boy were we pleased to see Creator and Head Designer Sara, bring Hunter's signature style to life on the runway with her latest spring summer collection. Sara's collection was a little bit boho yet modern and featured the perfect slip dress and mini satin camis which ignited our inner 90s girl and renewed our longing for Kate Moss to be the IT girl of today. We loved seeing Hunter's version of seasonal trends such as the oversized sleeve and gingham be incorporated into such a wearable and versatile collection.

Sovata
Sovata is Canberra's go-to millinery and race wear label and has graced the Fashfest runway for the fourth year running. Her strong aesthetic is bold and colourful and each look is its own vision. Sovata closing collection featured a muted colour palette with a splash of mint, beautiful  aline skirts and 50s references make her designs timeless and flattering for any figure. The millinery was carefully detailed with butterflies and Sovata's signature asymmetrical structures in sinamay perfect for the upcoming racing season.
