Tell us about your beauty and blogging journey:
I was working as a freelance journo and had some spare time that I wanted to fill with something creative so I started a blog. There’s a lot of sad news out there in the world and as a journalist it’s a big part of my life, so I decided to focus my blog on something different and my other passions which are fashion and beauty. As far back as I can remember my Mum has always had her three step morning and evening beauty routine so my interest in it and fascination started when I was young. My uncle actually bought me my first lip gloss when I was about 9 or 10 and I just felt so glamorous wearing it. After that there was no going back.
I was the one who always did my friend's hair and make up before we went out and my Dad says with what I have in my wardrobe I can open my own store. I love getting new clothes and invest in items that last but also pick up the on trend pieces every season. I am a sucker for new beauty products on the market and learning about them, then passing that knowledge on.
Favourite beauty product of all time?: This is such a hard one. I have to say it’s a tie between NARS Laguna bronzing powder which gives such a natural glow and you can build it up. I am also in love with Dior’s illuminating face powder. It gives a little something extra on the cheekbones and is beautifully subtle.
Your go-to product for dry winter skin is… For my body I love Nivea firming body lotion. I figure if I’m moisturising anyway, I might as well firm up the skin too - it’ll be worth it in a few decades time. For my hands I am all about L’Occitane and their rose hand and nail cream is silky soft and smells amazing.
What are your top 3 make up kit essentials?: Concealer (right now I’m using Estee Lauder double wear), mascara (I change it all the time) and lip gloss.
What are your colour predictions for spring? I think there’ll be bold colours like blues and oranges and a lot of print. For the colour phobes, there’ll be plenty of black, cream and muted tones. When it comes to makeup I think it’ll be all about the glow, natural dewy skin and some beautiful pinks on our lips.
When you are not obsessing over beauty and fashion you are … at the gym or reading a book - none of this kindle stuff, a real book.
