Table Eight has had a revamp!

Table Eight has had a revamp and now has some styling game!

So if I am going to be honest I must admit in the past I wouldn’t have thought of shopping at Table Eight for my corporate or casual wear. However, over the weekend I was privileged to have a look through their new Freedom Now AW 16 collection and invited to have a play with some pieces on a shoot.

The verdict? I am a convert!

Kate Visser the buying director has clearly taken Table Eight in a new direction. The brand has moved towards a fresh and modern look. I really can see myself wearing their pieces over the weekend mixing with my existing wardrobe or even extending the items into my corporate wardrobe. I think the pieces are really versatile and can be styled a number of ways.
The AW 16 collection clearly pays tribute to the 70s era. With touches of suede and fringe it is a nice modern interpretation of the era.

So girls if you are looking for a new brand  I encourage you to check out the new look
Table Eight items. I am excited to see how this brand continues to evolve!

For
the shoot over the weekend I decided to style three key pieces from the New Freedom collection, a wide leg pant, a classic long line vest and a seude black skirt. I found it really easy to mix these items with my existing wradrobe showing their versatlity! Enjoy the images.

'Fashion Weekend' Workshop at Westfield

Twice a year, Westfield holds Fashion Weekend to showcase the latest trends over a series of fashion and in-store events. As part of this year's first Fashion Weekend, DJ and I were invited by Westfield Belconnen to facilitate a workshop focusing on social media.

Me and DJ
Our workshop focused on how to increase engagement on Instagram with your own high quality street style and flat lay images.  We talked trough our favourite Instagram fashion influencers, street style poses Do's and Dont's and broke down the flat lay process. Our participants were also treated to photography tips from DJ which they could take away and easily put into practice without having to invest in photography equipment.

At the end of the Workshop we split up into groups and DJ and I guided our participants to have a go at putting together their own flat lays featuring looks from Bardot, Cotton On, YD and Rockwear and we were impressed with the results!

For those of you who missed our workshop here are our top 3 tips from the day.

Street Style
1. Keep your poses natural and focus on one or two key features of your outfit
2. Wear a look you love and feel comfortable in
3. Best time to shoot is in morning and afternoon light

Flat lays
1. Choose a theme or concept
2. Don't be afraid to be creative!
3. Invest in a clean simple background (whether it be a fur rug, large piece of card etc.)

We had so much fun and enjoyed meeting our attendees. Thanks for having us Westfield Belconnen.

Who What Wear - Besties who dress together stay together

What an amazing weekend it has been so far! Sofia and I have been busy. We hosted a mini workshop at Westfield Belconnen touching on key apps for  Instagram, street style photography and flat lay tips.

Naturally an event like this attracts a stylish crowd and I couldn't resist snapping bestie's, Supriya and Kate after the worshop.

I really enjoyed shooting these two ladies because each rocked their outfit and wore it with confidence. Love it girls!

Who What Wear - Forcast on point

So I thought I would share with you the love of Forcast! This store is fast becoming one of my favourite. It's such a great place for work attire and evening pieces that won't break your bank!

I walked in the other day looking for items to style with for a shoot and ended up making a purchase for myself.

The Racquel skirt pictured above is exactly what I needed. This pencil skirt compliments my curvy figure and it is something I can were to the office but also something that I plan on wearing to a cousins wedding or friends engagement (still haven't decided which event I want to wear it to).

A styling tip of mine is ladies when you buy something keep in mind what else you can wear it with in your existing wardrobe.  No point in buying a top or a skirt if you have to buy a whole outfit to go with it. Be savvy shopper!

Who What Wear - Tartan Tales

We spotted Ross, Manager of 86 in Braddon after the races in New Acton.

This dapper chap was snapped wearing a three piece suit custom made on his travel in Thailand.

What caught our eye was the pop of colour in his bow tie. The story behind this piece is that is was purchased in the southern most post office in the world. Yes, Antartica. This particular tartan was designed to represent the colours of the polar region by Ros Jones Mull.

Who What Wear - Office warrior

This week I managed to score a bargain from Target (actually this happens quiet a lot there).  I got a further 30% off the sale price. However, I justjust checked they have a FURTHER 50% off!!So if you are in need of some new work clothes head straight to Target!

This grey wrap skirt was only $21.00 bargain!

Thought I would have a play with this look and add some strong gladiator heels and a cuff. I almost felt like i was going to war walking into the office.

I figure life is too short to wear boring shoes or clothes for that matter. Don't let your statement heels just sit in the cupboard and collect dust. Wear them! You only live once right.

The Cali Girl

Having just had a week in LA assisting styling on an amazing project, street stalk all the latest trends hitting the streets of LA.

An obvious trend in Cali is their love for denim. Skirts, shorts, jeans, you name it and they probably have it in their wardrobe. I love the carefree styling LA brings, so effortless and chic in everything they do.

A few labels that come to mind when I think of LA are:

  •  Free People
  •  Anine Bing
  •  Vetements - especially for their denim
  •  The Kooples - for that rocker chick inside you
  •  Acne - for their boots
  •  American Apparel
  •  Rachel Zoe
  •  Zagid & Voltaire

Jeans, white tee and boots or cute flowy sundress are a classic example of the typical Cali girl. By simply adding a leather jacket to the mix, giving it that little bit of attitude, you've got your Friday night look done and dusted.

My favourite place for such pieces is Anine Bing. She does great staples for any occasion and has the best leather jacket range around. Other options are also the various vintage shops along Melrose Drive, where you're sure to find a fashionable treat.

A new trend to hit the streets not just in LA but also New York is the oriental bomber jacket.

I found a great high street version from a on Fairfax called Dope. It definitely draws inspiration from the runway pieces without the crazy price tag on the side of course. This bomber would definitely give your outfit that extra swag.

Overall LA fashion is great for keeping to the basics (simple tee, jeans etc) with their added touches of attitude here and there through biker boots or leather jackets. So if in doubt stick to the classics and you'll never go wrong.

Can’t wait to go back.

Who What Wear - Miss Audrey

Taylor Perrin, freelance makeup artist has killer style and makeup skills to match!

It comes to no surprise to us that she references Audrey Hepburn as one of her style icons.  That classic flair just oozes from her outfit.

Taylor also loves the Jenner’s and Karadashian’s style but who she chooses to draw from is dependent on her mood and the event she is attending.

The look we captured mixes sports luxe and femininity.

“I often mix sports luxe and feminine styles  because I love to feel super
comfortable whilst still looking cute and fashionable”, said Taylor.

We heart Taylor’s quirky take on the classics.
