Who What Wear - Zannon

While the Fashion Vault editor Deejay was busy judging the ASMY swimwear model of the year contest held at Tongue and Groove she managed to steal the MC for a street style snap.
Zannon, a Sydney DJ/Producer (signed to Lucky Ent) and Executive Producer from Velocity Show on KIIS FM was there to host the night. Looking sleek in all black you really can’t go wrong. Zannon believes fashion is a reflection of yourself and you should wear what makes you happy. His shopping philosophy is to buy bold statement pieces.

Overall the Fashion Vault loves that his style aligns so closely with his DJ sets. This is a great presentation of dressing for the job you want.

2016 women to watch - Tina Nikolovski

For those who know me well I get called a gypsy. I love listening to my inner intuitions and I feel like 2016 is going to be a wonderful year  (so far so good). I also have a feeling there are a number of women in Canberra to watch as they are going to achieve great things this year.

One of the first on my list that I would like to introduce you to is Tina Nikolovski (yes full disclosure it’s not secret she is a friend). Friend or no friend this woman is simply inspiring.

Who is Tina you ask? She is a personal trainer, a photographer and an agent (Devojka Models.) A true creative who expresses herself on a number of platforms.

When you meet her for the first time you will be taken back by her energy and her general manner. You can’t really have a bad day hanging around this woman.

Tina has been shooting beautiful images for over eight years so I took the time to interview her about her more recent venture, Devojka Models.

The Interview

Q // Tina you have achieved so much already, PT and photography why extend yourself further and open a modelling agency?

A // I wanted to launch a modelling agency in Canberra to first of all to challenge the norms that exist in the fashion industry.

Devojka Models represents a diverse range of cultures and body shapes that aren’t your typical agency categories.

Having worked as a photographer I also knew the depth of talent that existed in Canberra that just needed support to take it to the next level.

My experience in the industry as a photographer has given me a different perspective and I am able to offer in depth, support and experience to my models.

Q // I’m curious where does the name Devojka models come from?

A // Devojka comes from a Slavic background meaning girl. My heritage is Macedonian and I wanted to connect with it.  I also knew that picking a foreign word would spark curiosity.

Q // What is the aim for Devojka models?

A // Devojka models will aim to challenge the preconceptions that to make it in the modelling industry, one must apply interstate. It will also challenge the common stereotypes associated with the modelling industry. Devojka Models, my philosophy and the amazing team of models behind it will aim to prove this wrong by challenging societal and industry norms every single day.

Q // Where do you want to take Devojka models?

A// Initially I would like to continue establishing a strong client base in Canberra. I already have a small client base interstate and I plan to develop this even further, and broaden Devojka nationally.

Q // You wear so many different hats, how do you find the time to fit this all in?

This is true, I manage to fit a lot in as I have developed solid time management skills over the years.  I am not a creature of habit by any means, I love variety and I have a big passion and love for what I do. With any of my roles I don’t feel like it is work, it’s simply me following my dreams and making my visions tangible.

Having seen Tina grow over the years I have seen her face some immense challenges in the past. This is why I believe that she is someone to watch. A person who can travel such a roller-coaster journey and do so well is someone to watch.

In Tinas words I guess I wouldnt be at this point if I didnt have my own journey.  In 2014 I was at a point in in my life where I didnt believe I could overcome the hurdles that I had faced. But looking inwards I found my strength and the wisdom needed to strive forward. If I hadn’t faced those challenges I would not be who I am today; strength is not given, it is earned. Upon reflection I am truly grateful for my experiences and I don’t believe that anyone embarks upon success without a magnitude of growth by overcoming their own self-limiting beliefs. I truly believe that in this life, you must find your purpose. Strip away all the distractions in the world and figure out who you want to be and what drives you - be true to yourself and form your own path rather than paving someone else’s. The rest is history.”

Look out for this woman Canberra, she is killing it!

Burn more while you jump at Sky Zone

The great thing about a New Year is the chance for a fresh start! I usually go to the gym between 4-6 times a week. Since, fashion is a big part of my life I want to look stylish too! Also, it’s important that we feel comfortable in our active wear. Not to mention everything is supported (wink) girls, you know what I mean. This week we gave jumping on a trampoline a shot and joined the Skyfit Fitness Class at Sky Zone, Belconnen. We also put some active wear to the test and were impressed by brands we already had faith in!
With Rockwear, Fabletics, Lorna Jane, Calvin Klein and Nike, on the best active wear list. We found that these were the most supportive and stylish brands around. Us fitness bunnies bounced so hard that our heart rates reached the max.

We had an absolute blast at Sky Zone!! We all agreed we would go back in a heartbeat; No.1 it’s such a great date night idea! No.2 by the end of it we were puffed and felt like we burnt 200 calories in 20 minutes.

We were told you can burn up to 1000 calories in one hour. Bouncing on a trampoline is a great workout - it attacks fat, tone muscles and enhances flexibility.

If you are looking for something new to do Skyfit has weekly memberships, usually $19 are now only $15 so it’s a great time to put some fun back into your fitness routine.

And that's a wrap, a huge thank you to Daniel Cummins for the excellent photos - I can't imagine it being easy to capture bunching models ;)

It's pretty hard not to be taken by this amazing red-headed beauty.

Rimmel nailed it!

Everyone knows that nail polish can nail you look! But finding a great - SHINY one is THE most important thing when your on the hunt for the best top coat. I have always been a big fan of Rimmel, that fact that you can buy small bottles works for me. They always go crusty anyway before you get to the bottom. We thought we would try the new Super Gel by Rimmel.
This was the first coat on the lovely Carly's nails. Pretty bright, I thought we could get away with one coat but it was recommend that we do two! So we did.
This is two coats! A little deeper and noticeably shinier.
We noticed that the brush had two brushes combined in to one. This made for a thick layer of polish, easier for it to glide on and last for the stroke to the end.
We waited about 5 minutes before I painted the last coat. I also ran her nails under cold water (I have been doing this for years - I feel like it helps the nails dry quicker).

There you have it shiny nails! Her nails lasted for 6 days, which I think is pretty good. Carly said they would of lasted longer however she works a lot with water.

Verdict! we love the Super Gel top coat and recommend you try it for yourselves.

Who What Wear - Classic Casual Street Style

Gents you can't go wrong with investing in a classic blazer. A wardrobe staple it can be worn with dress pants or chinos for a more dressy look. On the flip side pair your blazer with a pair of jeans for a casual effortless stylish look.  As stylists we highly recommend MJ Bale for great quality mens blazers (and awesome pocket squares too)!

5 quick tips to look glamorous

Image sourced from Harper's Baazar

1. Whether your hair is straight or curly a simple flick to create a volumed side parting is an effortless step to a sassier, more glamorous you. Pop in some volumiser, slightly tease the roots and run your fingers through to create your desired effect.

2. A signature red lip is the ultimate quick fix! it will make you feel glammed up on these balmy summer nights. Make sure you’ve got it in your clutch for touch ups and don’t forget a handy carry mirror as they can be messy!

3. Whether it’s a romantic date or a night out with friends, a classic LBD suiting to your body shape screams classic glamour! Seek a dress with texture, layers or detailing to compliment your style and personality to set yourself apart.

4. A statement necklace or cocktail ring, instantly enhances your look. Select one or the other or brave it and choose both - just make sure they are complementary to each other and not too bold! Local Canberra business Devine Goddess has some amazing costume jewellery.

5. Top off your glamorous look with a divine scent. While it’s not visible, a beautiful deep/fresh scent will make you feel ready to take on the world.

…And your set for a glamorous night out.

Who What Wear - Müssen street style

I got this dress from Boohoo the slits went right up to the sides of my thighs. I like to think, I'm risqué but it was a little to much for me, that I hand sewed the slits up to suit me! It's amazing how much your look can change by adding a belt, high heels and a dab of red lipstick. We say it time and time, again but it's true, accessories can make your outfit! I chose this outfit because it was easy to style and since I was coming from the gym - I needed that. This look was built on a budget but I think, it looks pretty swish.

Dress - Boohoo
Belt - Oxford
Bag - Forever New
Shoes - Kmart
