2015 Spring Racing Style Guide

It's here! Our Spring Racing Style Guide featuring our top 3 looks for the season 'On Trend', 'Edgy' and 'Classic' providing plenty of inspiration to get you race-ready.

The racing season is the perfect time to experiment and indulge in the latest trends especially when it comes to head wear. This season crowns are everywhere! Which means there are plenty of styles to choose from to complement your individual style.

When it comes to selecting your outfit, clean shapes and silhouettes with a midi hemline are bang on trend - perfect for racing dress guidelines. 90's shapes are also everywhere including spaghetti straps and lingerie inspired slip dresses.

Beauty tip: Keep it dewy with lots of shimmer. Minimal eye makeup is trending at the moment leaving room for your head piece to stand out!

Racing style is known for its traditional dressing standards and classic fashion, however we believe you should always dress to reflect your individual style and a day at the races is the perfect occasion to add an edge to your look. Starting of course with a feature head piece -  we just fell in love with Sovata's mow hawk inspired head piece which provides the perfect platform for an edgy look.

So long as you are not planning on participating in 'Fashions on the Field' add an edge to your look with demure-cut-outs or patent and zip details. Black is always a good colour to pick if you looking to push the boundaries of a 'traditional' races outfit.

Accessories are a great way to add an additional 'edge' to your outfit - opt for chunky or bold coloured pieces which pick up colours from your head piece to refine your look and finish off with thick strapped points.

Beauty tip: Go for a dark smokey eye to add drama and to change it up from 'traditional' race-day makeup. Adding an intense contour will add an extra edge!

If you prefer a timeless look then race day is the perfect day for you! You cannot go wrong with selecting a classic headpiece - its what racing style is all about! For spring select a headpiece in sinamay, straw or even a touch of leather but steer away from felt and other heavy materials. A hat is always a good pick or a structured hatinator.

For your outfit stick to feminine silhouettes such as an a-line skirt or dress with a hemline below the knee, capped sleeves and avoid showing too much skin for the ultimate classic races look.

Don't be shy to add colour with accessories or for the ultimate classic look stick to a black and white palette.

Beauty tip: Keep your classic look simple and beautiful to achieve a timeless look with a touch of class.
